Farewell from Sue and Butty!

Dear Netballers and Parents/Carers,
The time has come to inform you that Andrea and I have decided to retire from Wyre Netball Club at the end of January, 2016.  We formed the Club in September 1997 and netball has been a huge part of our lives giving us enormous pleasure coaching, umpiring and playing.  We were involved in setting up and entering the first Lancashire Junior League and can boast that we still have girls in our Club who played in these games!
As a club we have successfully entered teams in both Lancashire and Fylde Leagues,  had netball weekends in Prestatyn, been to the Commonwealth Games, supported England and our local super league team Manchester Thunder.  We have raised funds for the Young Oncology Unit and taken part in the Race for Life.
Our girls are some of the best you will find both on and off the court.  As well as playing at WNC they have represented their School, College, County and University and have always done us proud being ambassadors for netball and WNC. We were once told by another coach that our girls were like sticks of rock – they have ‘Wyre’ running right through them – long may it continue!!!!
Andrea and I will be sorry to go missing each and every one of them.  We are pleased to say there have only been a few tears along the way as we will aways remember Kim and hopefully the Butterfly Cup will continue to be awarded.
Selfishly and hopefully so you don’t forgets us, we would like to donate the Morgan-Hoyle or Hoyle-Morgan Trophy. We don’t mind which way round (perhaps that’s why we’ve worked together so successfully!) to be presented each year at your Presentation Evening to the best Ambassador for Wyre Netball Club.
We would also like to thank you, the parents. We have appreciated all the effort you put in re transport, kit, scoring! Etc., etc., and  without your continued support the club would not be as successful as it is.
As you can appreciate we are now getting on in years and at the stage where we have excellent well qualified Coaches in Abby, Michelle and Tara.  They are more than capable to take over the running of this successful club. We are confident that they will take the club forward with their enthusiasm and expertise, giving the girls the very best opportunities to develop their netball.
We wish the club and all it’s members all our very best wishes and thank you for the memories!
Yours sincerely,
Sue and Andrea
