Meet our Coaches 

Abby Pridmore
Head Coach

Abby's love for Netball began here at Wyre Netball Club when she first joined at the age of 7. From this young age Abby's passion and love for Netball has grown as both a player and as a coach. She has represented the club in local leagues and county tournaments for the past 18 years. Abby moved away to Leeds for a several years to study sport at Leeds Metropolitan University, whilst studying she became a key member of the University Netball Academy playing and training at the Yorkshire based Netball Centre of Excellence.  
Whilst studying for her degree Abby also balanced her time completing her Level 1 and 2 coaching courses in both Netball and a number of other sports including Football, Handball, and Dance . This year Abby was selected to complete the UKCC level 3 course in Netball coaching which she is hoping to complete over the 2017/18 Season.

During Abby's time developing as a coach she was selected for an England Netball Coaching Scholarship. She gained valuable experience coaching with England Netball and developed her coaching portfolio at a number of different levels in Leeds and the surrounding area during her time in Yorkshire.     
Since returning home from University Abby has continued to maintain playing at a high level by joining neighbouring team Blackpool Netball Club and representing the club in the North West Regional Senior Premiership as well as the local Fylde Netball League. She has also continued her studies by undertaking a masters degree in sports management and marketing. 
Abby is a creative and committed coach and specialises in developing dynamic and challenging sessions for our senior players. Abby is also the Head Coach for Lancaster University Netball Academy and in recent years has joined the coaching team at Lancashire County Netball Academy

Michelle Harrison
Coach & Club Treasurer 

Michelle also joined the club at a young age and continues to represent the club in the Fylde Netball League. She is our captain and longer serving member of Wyre Blacks and has also been instrumental in developing our Primary Netball set up. As a recently completed UKCC level 2 qualified coach and hardworking Primary School teacher, she has a natural understanding of seeking the best out of our youngest club members.   
Michelle is a passionate and extremely patient coach with our primary groups and has become a valuable part of our coaching team.  
As well as a coach Michelle is a qualified umpire and has been influential in developing the large group of umpires belonging to the club. 

Tara Fisher
Coach & Club Secretary  

Tara's previous coaching experience includes 4 years at local club Blackpool focusing on the primary aged attendees, as well as coaching a local back to netball group  of ladies who now compete in the Fylde League. 

After completing her UKCC level 2 Tara came to Wyre NC in September 2015 and has taken a leading role in developing our year 9 and 10 age group (Wyre Greens) earning them great progress.
Tara's session are often centered around fitness due to her own passion for personal fitness/strength and conditioning. Tara recently joined our senior team Wyre Blacks with her experience and versatility proving to be a great addition to the team.

Her other roles within the club include the administration of our club website, and sending regular communications regarding club updates.

​Tara's working career is as Head of Marketing for architectural Lighting company - acdc Lighting based in Colne.
Emily Wolstenholme 
Coach & Community and Schools Coach​
Emily has been a member of he club for almost 15 years. She joined the club when she was in primary school and has grown up through WNC. She is now a fully qualified PE teacher and UKCC Level 2 Netball Coach. Emily also plays for our senior team Wyre Blacks. 
Emily also delivers within the Wyre community at our partner primary and high schools. If you would like more information on the community and schools offer we provide please get in touch!
Alongside netball, Emily enjoys playing and umpiring Handball and Tchoukball 

Rachel Hoggarth 
Coach & Umpiring Officer 
Rachel has been member of WNC for the past four years but has been playing since she was 8. Now a qualified UKCC Level 2 Coach Rachel is currently studying chemistry at the University of Manchester.
Alongside this she also an umpire and key player for Wyre Blacks and supports our members through umpiring pathways.

Tony Simmons
Assistant Coach 

Tony is one of our committed parents at Wyre NC and also an experienced football coach. His positive nature and considerable experience of coaching children makes him a fantastic addition to our club. Tony is a qualified UKCC Level 1 coach as well as holding a host of other sporting qualifications in a range of other disciplines.
